The ancient fishermen hamlet of Pudukkupam established during the Chola period (IX-XII century) is located 10 kms south of Pondicherry city, in the Coromandel coast of the Bay of Bengal. Being near to the estuary of the Chunambar river and the Indian ocean it has a privileged ecological position, not far from the roman ruins of Arikkamedu, a port established in the first century of our era. It is between this hamlet and Pooranankuppam, the rice bowl of this region, that Kailash Beach Resort came up as the first establishment of this class in Pondicherry state.

In a park of 3 hectares of tropical gardens, the buildings are traditional Tamil style with ancient sculptured granite pillars and teakwood columns. Two blocks of buildings offer 37 a/c rooms, each one with a private balcony and a different decoration. These buildings blend the ancient charme of South India with a quality modern comfort.

Kailash Beach Resort is situated on the NH 45 A at 10 kilometers south Puducherry (Pondicherry) on the way to Tanjore.The nearest airport is at Chennai (Madras) at 160 km. Daily flights from major cities of Europe are available, British Airways, Lufthansa, Air France Sri Lankan Airways, and from or to South East Asia (Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur). Daily Bus services to all major cities of South India (Bangalore, Madras, Trichy, Madurai…) A taxi service provides transferts from and to airport and the city when not travelling with your own car.

Restaurant & Bar
Restaurant serving French and Indian fares is at your service in the main restaurant hall, the terraces or the external verandas. We do offer also vegetarian menus. All juices are fresh from seasonal fruits.

The bar with its terrace around the swimming pool area provides a choice of wines and beverages for your taste.

A restaurant with a “pandal”, the Tamil traditional palmyra thatched roof can accommodate 80 guests where you can invite your guests in a more intimate atmosphere for all those special events and occasions : weddings, anniversaries and corporate meetings.

Snacks and beverages service from 6 am. to 11 pm. without interruption.

Other Facilities
A conference hall in traditional style with a capacity of 150 guests can accommodate your meetings and conferences, provided with independent toilet facilities and situated in the middle of the coconut garden.

A TV and video hall is also available with an internet connection and WIFI for those laptop owners, An independent room with an internet connected computer can help you to receive your mails, reply them and realize all urgent or non urgent office jobs in a comfortable space. A fax, scanner and photocopy machine are also available in the Reception. A music and dance kiosk is in the middle of the garden where performances can be organised on request.
